At 2800m (9180ft) above sea level, the Poás Volcano is considered the largest geyser in the world. If permitted you will visit Lake Botos, an ancient crater. Later, drive through coffee and sugar cane plantations to Sarchí, site of the world famous multicolor carts and of numerous wooden handicraft and furniture shops. Drive from San José through a scenic road to the Caribbean Coast crossing the Braulio Carrillo Cloud Forest and enjoying a beautiful view. Continuation to Limón and then along the Southern Caribbean Coast to arrive at Cahuita.

Cahuita is one of the most beautiful palm tree beaches in the country. The white sand comes from coral reefs and shells. Admire the beach at this 1068ha (2640acres) National Park and the numerous crustaceans and fishes as well as the only “living” coral reef in the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica.

Transfer from Cahuita to Siquirres through rain forests and large banana plantations, to the embarking point. Board the boat to cruise the marvelous canals until you arrive in Tortuguero. Afternoon visit to the small village.

Early Sunrise Boat Tour through the natural canals in the Tortuguero Rain Forest National Park with its impressive flora and fauna home to more than 309 bird species. After breakfast, enjoy again the ride through the canals on your way back to the disembarking point. Continuation by road to San José.

Drive along the Pan American Highway to arrive at the old Port of Puntarenas. Then, enjoy the cruise skirting the Pacific Coast. Visit the most important virgin island of the Gulf of Nicoya. With its coconut palms, white sand and crystalline water, the exotic Tortuga Island will provide enjoyment in contact with nature. Lunch will be served on the beach. Return to San José by late afternoon.
IRAZÚ VOLCANO – OROSI VALLEY – LANKESTER GARDEN Visit Cartago, Costa Rica’s former capital city, the ruins of the old Church and the Basilica of our Lady of the Angels. Later, at 3420m (11220ft) above sea level,
admire the highest volcano in Costa Rica with its interesting lunar landscape.
Continue to Paraíso and then through the marvelous Orosi Valley. See the Cachí hydroelectric power plant. Visit the ruins of the Ujarrás Church and the Orosi Church, one of the oldest colonial churches in Costa Rica. Later, admire the Lankester Gardens, with the largest orchid collection in Central America. Lunch included.
PACUARE RIVER RAFTING
Exciting rafting through the jungle along the only protected white water river in Latin America, a 28km (17 miles) ride of stunning natural beauty and exciting Class III and IV white water rapids. Several deep passes covered with lush vegetation are the home of ocelots, monkeys and hundreds of birds. Some of the world´s best rapids are found here. Lunch included.
