Also visiting La Fortuna to enjoy the hot springs and learing about the history and culture of cacao and the process for making chocolate. Ending you trip you will visiting a volcano located in Guanacaste and also morning at leisure to relax on the white sandy beach or to swim in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Departure from San José across the Braulio Carrillo National Park. Boat tour on the Sarapiquí River. Watch crocodiles basking under the sun on the banks of the river and hear the sounds of the howler monkeys. Hundreds of exotic birds are common in this area. The vegetation is very exuberant.

Early morning, visit to La Tirimbina Reserve, which protects 346ha (865 acres) of rain forest. Walk through one of the largest hanging bridges in Costa Rica to admire many of the 420 species of birds, such as parrots, tanagers and toucans. Discover also the secrets and wonders of chocolate. Learn about the history and culture of cacao and the process for making chocolate. Early afternoon, transfer through the San Carlos Lowlands to La Fortuna. On clear days, admire the almost perfect cone. At 1633m (5358ft) above sea level, the Arenal Volcano has a 140m (460ft) deep crater formed over an ancient caldera. A visit to the hot springs and its idyllic tropical gardens is also scheduled.

After breakfast, transfer around the Arenal Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Costa Rica, and then along the Pan American Highway to arrive at Rincón de la Vieja. Upon arrival at Rincón, we suggest a visit to the deep hole of the Blanco River or any of the other activities at the Hacienda.

Very early morning visit to this 14084ha (34802acres) National Park. It comprises an active strata volcano. Nature is diverse with giant trees and more than 257 bird species. At Las Pailas, admire the solfataric lakes and soffioni, holes that expel clouds of steam. Late morning, private transfer to Playa Hermosa on the Pacific Coast.

Morning at leisure to relax on the white sandy beach or to swim in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. Early afternoon, return to San José.
